Funds SA’s Board of Directors are the governing body of the Corporation.
The Board’s primary method of adding value for stakeholders is through:
- Reviewing, advising and approving investment polices, asset allocation strategies and sector strategies based upon management recommendation
- Engaging expert investment managers following thorough research and due diligence undertaken by management and specialist asset consultants
- Effective Board decision-making
- Delegating the efficient implementation of Board approved strategies to management
- On-going monitoring and regular, periodic review of all aspects of Funds SA’s investment processes, performance and risk profile.
The current Board consists of non-executive directors including the Chairman. The Chief Executive is not a member of the Board. Two Board committees assist the Board in fulfilling its corporate governance responsibilities: the Audit Committee and the Human Resources Committee.
The procedure for Board selection and appointment is detailed within the Superannuation Funds Management Corporation of South Australia Act, 1995 Part 3.
Funds SA’s Corporate Governance Policy prescribes the framework for the fiduciary oversight of the performance and control of Funds SA’s operations.
